Chris Billias
Republican for Commonwealth's Attorney Rockbridge County/City of Lexington
November 3
Thank you to the voters of Rockbridge County, and those who voted for me in Lexington, for choosing me as your next Commonwealth's Attorney! I will do my utmost to justify the faith and confidence you have shown in me! I will follow the example of public service shown by Bucky Joyce, and will work my hardest to make this office a model of efficiency and effectiveness! And please remember, I will be the Commonwealth's Attorney for all people of Rockbridge and Lexington, regardless of your voting preference. A note of appreciation to my opponent, Josh Elrod, who ran a hard and clean campaign, and was a gentleman throughout. You may have lost this election, but you have won many admirers!

October 28
Just another reason why an experienced, proven prosecutor is needed in Rockbridge/Lexington, and the difference between a prosecutor and a politician. Before I would ask for a dime of taxpayer dollars to fund a new program, I am going to investigate it thoroughly and be certain it will work and be effective for our area. I do not find it necessary to find something to throw out there and offer as a means to get myself elected, regardless of whether it is a nice sounding but utterly bad idea, because I have proven that I can do this job effectively as Assistant and now Chief Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney.
October 2
We had a great dinner, and I enjoyed talking to my many supporters at the Effinger Harvest Dinner on Saturday!! My thanks for the always friendly and hospitable folks at Effinger! To all my supporters, please come out to vote on November 3, and remember every vote counts on local elections!!
October 25
We appreciated the opportunity to spend time with the Jakes on Saturday morning and appreciate the lunch! Thanks Monte and Billy!

October 24
After many months of door to door campaigning throughout Rockbridge County, this is what my magnetic car signs look like! LOL! Just one more week of wear and abuse...Don't let anyone tell you Rockbridge is not hard on jumbo-sized car signs... :)

October 24
Here are the videos from the Washington & Lee Journalism website regarding the debate held on October 7, 2015. These are just three of many, many topics we covered, but they will give you an idea of where my opponent stand on these issues. First is the overview by student reporter Mac Trammell, then the three topics selected by W&L to publish on their website.
October 23

Wow, just wow! Powerful letters to the editor in the News-Gazette this edition! Unfortunately, the editor could not find space for the other letters written on my behalf this week...But I do have a HUGE advantage in quality!

October 17
Today's day was filled with events and door-to-door campaigning to meet Rockbridge/Lexington voters. We started at the Natural Bridge Firehouse for the pancake breakfast and yard sale, then to Timber Ridge for their yard sale and Brunswick stew, then worked our booth and handed out balloons and candy at the Kenny's Classic Car Show at RCHS. To round out the day, I campaigned in the afternoon hours meeting my neighbors door-to-door until dark! Two more weeks until the election!
October 16
The "Business After Hours" event was held at beautiful Boxerwood, and with perfect weather was a great way to spend after work time...
October 16
We had another opportunity to discuss our campaigns thanks to the Effinger Ruritans last night at the Palmer Community Center, which was very well attended! I want to thank the ladies for a good meal, and the Ruritans for the invitation to speak! Here are some pictures from this event...

It was a busy day campaigning yesterday! First to Lee Hi for the truck show, downtown Lexington for the truck parade, then over to BV to help Roger and Melzer at our booth with Ben Cline for the Mountain Days festival, then door to door at the Country Club area, East Midland Trail, then finally in Raphine! Just three weeks remain until you decide who your next Commonwealth's Attorney will be...
October 8
My thanks go out to the Brownsburg Ruritans http://www.brownsburgruritan.org/, who hosted a candidates forum for my opponent and me, and for Delegate Ben Cline and his challenger, Ellen Arthur.

I spent the best 20 minutes of my day talking to Wallace, who is the longest serving member of the Ruritans at 70 years!! We took advantage of the Brownsburg Ruritans chicken, which was well worth the extra effort!! :) The weather didn't cooperate, but the company was fine!
September 25
The weather was not ideal for the downtown Lexington artist festival, but there was great music by Burr Datz and the boys of Greenhouse, and interesting displays from the talented artists of Lexington!

September 19
It was a very enjoyable evening at the Rockbridge Friends of NRA Banquet at VMI with Ben, Roger, Bob Goodlatte, Jan and Mike, and other friends, and even better when I walked away as one of the raffle winners! Of course, this is how I look after 12 straight hours of campaigning... :)

We had a great time at the Rockbridge Baths Firehouse Labor Day festival! Great events, and a fine opportunity to meet voters who care about keeping our community safe with the person that has been doing the job in the Commonwealth Attorney's Office for over 7 1/2 years now! Your only choice, Chris Billias for Commonwealth's Attorney!
September 8
These are the pictures from the pavilion at Glen Maury Park where the various candidates gave their speeches. I joined my fellow Republicans Bob Goodlatte and Ben Cline on stage.

As noted on WSLS 10, there was a great turnout for the BV Labor Day Parade! The people in BV really made us feel welcome, and we thank you!
September 5
Great game by the Wildcats last night when they delivered the beat-down to Liberty HS! This was a team that put up over 60 points on the Wildcats last year, but the D was up to the task this time around! I am a proud sponsor of the Wildcats along with Ben Cline, on 3WZ!
September 5
Today I was helping at Effinger Firehouse serving chicken during the music festival. I was able to meet more voters and get some signs out in the morning and early afternoon on my way over to Effinger. I really appreciate the great response and strong support from the folks in this part of the county!

My wife was so impressed with my cleaning, chair stacking and table carrying skills from the Palmer Community Center Ice Cream Supper, she didn't want me to forget I can apply these at home, too!! :)
August 17
There was a great turnout for the Palmer Community Center Ice Cream Supper on Saturday! I helped the Ruritans with clean up duties, and still had a chance to meet so many great people during this great community event! I will have to admit that I was still sorting and cleaning dirty trays in my sleep...:) But I was still able to get in some door-to-door that morning!

August 2
After a long day of campaigning on Saturday, my work does not end as prosecutors in my office take calls from officers that need help with a particular legal problem, like I am doing here. I have been, and will continue to be, accessible to law enforcement 24/7/365.
August 2
It is good to see that our friend, Tara Butler-Rodi, has perfected her photobombing skills as the Director of the SPCA!
August 2
After a day of meeting my voters door-to-door, we attended the SPCA event "Lazy dog days of summer festival". We met even more supportive community members and enjoyed the friendly spirit of the four legged friends and their owners!

July 25
We had a real workout yesterday walking in the South River Fire Department in Fairfield! I really appreciate the warm welcome from the good people who attended, and I'm sorry for holding up the line by shaking so many hands...and special thanks to my team, some of whom climbed a lot of hills to give out my candy bags and brochures!!
July 22
A fringe benefit of going door to door to ask the people of Rockbridge County and Lexington for their vote and their support is the magnificent views and beautiful homes!
July 20
Friday and Saturday at the County Fair were much busier than Wednesday and Thursday. Your responses have been overwhelmingly positive, and thank you for understanding that so many hours spent at the Fair meant I could not get out to meet my neighbors door-to-door! I will be back at it starting Monday night!
July 16
I have met so many nice people at the Rockbridge County fair these past two days, and I look forward to meeting many more through this weekend! Please stop by our booth so that I have an opportunity to meet as many of my neighbors as possible!
July 16
As part of my responsibilities as Chief Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney, I am often requested to teach at the Central Shenandoah Police Training Academy in Weyers Cave. Today I spent the day teaching 4th Amendment jurisprudence to police recruits.

Thank you very much, Bob! I am inspired by the unwavering dedication to representing the public interest shown by you and by Ben Cline, and I aspire to bring the same level of commitment if I am elected as the next Commonwealth's Attorney for Rockbridge County and the City of Lexington!

"Visited with the Rockbridge Area Republicans today at the Lexington Balloon Rally. Great to see Chris Billias, Republican candidate for Common Wealth Attorney, working hard hard for every vote."
July 5
It is hard to believe that we gave out over 300 balloons by 4 p.m. today at the VMI balloon festival! Thanks for the support of my fellow Republicans Ben Cline, Ronnie Campbell, Roger Jarrel, and, of course, Congressman Bob Goodlatte!
July 5
On our way to Walkers Creek Firehouse for dinner after a long day of campaigning at the VMI balloon festival.

My thanks go out again to the folks I met in Fairfield and in Natural Bridge Station/Arnold's Valley that I had the pleasure of meeting this week and weekend! I am really encouraged by your support, and promise to continue working hard to earn your vote on November 3!
June 28
It was wonderful to see the community come together at the First Baptist Church in Lexington for the memorial service honoring our brothers and sisters in South Carolina who were slaughtered while attending their bible study. This event was well attended and showed that we emphasize our sameness rather than focus on our differences. I am so honored and blessed to be able to serve Lexington and Rockbridge County...

The perils of going door to door in Rockbridge County- vicious dogs that scratch your car! :) Despite the damage, I enjoyed meeting my neighbors today and want to thank everyone for their kind words and pledge of support!!
June 20
Here are some pictures from the Raphine Fire Company parade. I appreciate all the efforts of my team who were busy handing out candy bags and campaign literature! Last weekend I participated in the Effinger Firehouse Parade. Below are a few pictures of my team and me campaigning!
May 17
I was very moved by the dramatic readings presented by the Washington and Lee students who participated in the Facing Sexual Violence in Rockbridge County project Sunday evening. The suffering of victims of sexual abuse and their struggle to overcome this trauma emphasizes the importance of serving this community with compassion and understanding. I am proud of my record of success in prosecuting these types of cases for the Rockbridge/Lexington Commonwealth Attorney's Office.
